Alkane is a multi commodity mining and exploration company focussed in the Central West Region of New South Wales, Australia. The Company is developing the Dubbo Zirconia Project which will become a significant zirconium, niobium, light rare earth and yttrium heavy rare earth producer in 2013. The large resource is capable of sustaining open pit production for over 100 years. A demonstration pilot plant has been operating since 2008 producing sample products for consumer evaluation.

Alkane is also a past gold producer and is developing a new gold deposit at Tomingley. It also has a 49% interest with Newmont in a new major 3Moz gold discovery at McPhillamys.
